Church Groups

Homegroups

13 homegroups meet in different locations around the town every other week (alternating with the Central Bible Study and Prayer Meeting) for prayer, Bible study and fellowship. Homegroups are a great way to get to know a few people better and grow together in Christ. Meetings are on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons and evenings.

The curate provides homegroup leaders’ notes for the Bible passages being studied.

If you are interested in joining a homegroup, please contact the pastoral worker, Liz Harman

Central Bible Study and Prayer Meeting

The Central Bible Study and Prayer Meeting usually takes place in the Church Hall at 7.30 pm every other Wednesday (in the week when there aren’t homegroups). The study is usually led by the vicar with lots of opportunities for interaction. There is a time of prayer from 8:30-9pm.

Prayer Meetings

There are short times of prayer to which all are welcome in the vestry before both the main Sunday services at 10am and 6:10pm.

Morning prayers are held in the side chapel daily, Monday to Friday, 9:15-9:30am.

During the interregnum, a Prayer Meeting will be held fortnightly on Wednesdays from 7.30 to 8.30pm.

A Prayer Breakfast is held on one Saturday of each month in the Church Hall, with prayer from 8-9am followed by a breakfast of tea or coffee and bread rolls. Three times a year there is a full cooked breakfast. Donations are made to cover the cost of breakfast.

An afternoon prayer meeting will be held from October 2010 on one Thursday of each month in the Church Hall at 2.30pm.

A daily prayer diary is issued once a month to encourage private prayer for those on the electoral roll and for other needs in the life of the church.

Some of the mission agencies with whom we have close links have their own prayer groups which meet each month on our premises.

Mothers & Others Bible Study

Mothers and OthersMothers & Others is an opportunity for those caring for pre-school children to take a relaxed look at the Bible, with questions and discussion. There is a fully staffed crèche with great toys. We meet on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month, 10-11am, initially in the Church Hall then upstairs for coffee and study.

For more information, please contact the church office.

The Mothers’ Union

The Mother’s Union meets on the second Thursday of each month at 2.30pm (usually in the Church Hall). The main purpose of The Mother’s Union is “to be specially concerned with all that strengthens and preserves marriage and the Christian family life”.
