The Trinity Centre

The Trinity Centre includes The Over The Doorstep Coffee Shop and Gift Shop.

Tea, coffee and other light refreshments are served daily (Monday to Friday) from 10.00am to 4.00pm, and from 10.00am to 2.00pm on Saturdays. Lunches are served daily between 11.45am and 1.45pm. You can view a copy of a sample menu here.

Many church members (and those from other fellowships in the town) are involved in the running of The Trinity Centre with its Over The Doorstep Coffee Shop and Gift Shop. These, in turn, contribute to the work and ministry of evangelism and outreach of The Trinity Foundation Trust, with which Holy Trinity is closely associated.

The aims of the Trinity Centre are:
• to provide a restful and friendly atmosphere where visitors to the town centre can relax and enjoy good value.
• to generate profit which is used to support Christian mission in Eastbourne and throughout the world
• to provide an opportunity for the staff - paid and volunteer - to witness to their faith in Jesus through practical services to the public.

For further information please call the coffee shop on: 01323 724037.

The Trinity Centre is owned by the Trinity Foundation Trust.

The Trinity Centre - supporting projects around the world

The Trinity Foundation Trust was formed in 1984 and is a registered charity.  The Trustees are all Christians and members of Holy Trinity Parish Church, which is situated next door to the Centre.

The purpose of the Trust is to tell as many people as possible about the Christian faith and the peace, comfort and hope for the future that comes from knowing Jesus personally.

As well as owning the Trinity Centre and controlling it's day-to-day activities, the Trust also enjoys a wider income from gifts and legacies.

The Trust income is not used toward the upkeep of the Holy Trinity Church building, but the long list of ways in which the Trust works to further it's aims does include much practical support for local ministry through the Parish Church.  The work is by no means confined to Eastbourne however, and spreads wider as the Trust grows.

If you are interested in finding out more about the Trust and the ways you might consider to offer your support, then please ask for a brochure in the Trinity Centre.

From stables to second-hand cars and now a superb Christian centre

The Trinity Centre was purchased by the Trust in the Spring of 1985. Originally built as the stabling block for a nearby mansion, it had more recently been used as the base for a taxi firm and latterly as a second-hand car showroom.

Over the next 18 months, the building was entirely rebuilt by the Trust, leaving only the outer

walls as original.  The premises have been specifically designed to accommodate the Coffee Shop and Gift Shop during weekday opening hours and to host many other church-based functions during evenings and weekends.

The shops are run by a core of salaried staff supported by a army of volunteers from local churches.  Those who work in the Centre do so as a way of saying 'thank-you' to Jesus for all He has done for them and in order that they can help in sharing with others all that He has to offer.

The coffee shop was called 'Over the Doorstep' as a reminder that Jesus said 'I am the door' through which we can have forgiveness, peace and everlasting life.
